Why do I post articles in two languages?

The reason is simply because I think, it is important to write in both English and French because we do not live in a monolingual society. People have different language competencies and varying ability of understanding specific languages. Therefore, writing things in the most efficient way possible should also involve using multiple languages, french and english in my case.

In the same way that it is important to write about different topics in different books, I think it is important to write about things in both languages.

In addition, because of the difference in languages, people may find it easier to understand something written in another language. For example, writing about love and romance is more poetic when done in French.

Another reason is that humans have a strong emotional connection to their mother tongues. For example, English-speaking people are proud of the fact that they speak English and will try to show it off in conversation.

In addition, people will feel more comfortable reading something in their own language. If they were to read something written in a different language, it might create a sense of distance and disconnect, I keep that in mind while trying to target both french and english speakers.

I’m not sure why this is necessary, as marketing can be done in any language. However, it does suggest that at least more than one person will probably see my writing.
